ACB nabs woman tax officer in central Gujarat taking bribe from businessman

Vadodara:The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed red handed a woman state tax officer in Vadodara taking bribe of Rs 15 thousand from a businessman in the name of helping him in reducing the tax and penalty amount with regard to a tax notice issued to him recently.

Assistant Director of the ACB, D P Chudasma said that class 2 state tax officer Pritiben C Vispute had sought the bribe from the complainant who had received a notice regarding assessment of his VAT tax for the year 2015-16 around 4 months back.

When he met the lady tax officer in this connection in her office, she suggested him to pay her bribe for reducing the tax amount and penalty to the maximum possible extent.

The ACB nabbed her red handed from her office today during a trap laid on the basis of the secret complaint.
