Bhuj:The Special Operation Group (SOG) of the police in Kutch district of Gujarat today nabbed four school students for allegedly taking pictures in restricted area close to Naliya airbase.
‘We have caught four boys, all of whom were students of class 8 of a St Xavier School in Naliya and residents of Nundhatad and nearby village. They were taking photographs with a camera in a farm close to the airbase. Two of them were brothers,’ SOG Police Inspector A R Zala said.
He said that they have not been arrested as prima facie it seemed that they were not taking pictures with any malafide intention.
The matter is under investigation.
Notably, Naliya airbase is close to Pakistan border in Kutch district where several cases of photography in sensitive military or defence areas had came to fore in the past.
However, Zala ruled out the possibility of any such thing in this case. He, however, could not clarify as to why in the era of mobile phone photography the students were carrying a photo camera for photography in such a sensitive zone.
