Amid Corona scare, met issues non-seasonal rain forecast and thunderstorm warning in Gujarat

Ahmedabad:Even as Gujarat has virtually locked down five of its biggest cities including capital Gandhinagar as part of a seemingly long battle against deadly Corona (Covid 19) virus, the met department today predicted non-seasonal rain and thunderstorm along with slight fall in temperatures after two days.

According to the met bulletin issued by the IMD center here this evening, there would be rise in maximum temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during next 48 hours and thereafter fall by 2 to 3 degrees during subsequent 3 days very likely over the region. No large change in minimum temperature very likely over the region during next 3 days.

The rain and thunderstorm/lightening forecast is as following –

DAY-3(Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 24/03/2020 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 25/03/2020):-

Light rain/ thundershower very likely at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region namely Surat, Navsari and Valsad; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Junagadh. Dry weather very likely in all the districts of North Gujarat region, Kutch district and remaining districts of South Gujarat region, Saurashtra and in Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

DAY-4 (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 25/03/2020 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 26/03/2020):-

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely at a few places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Vadodara, Anand, Kheda, Surat, Navsari ,Valsad, Tapi, Dangs, Narmada and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli ; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Botad, Amreli and Junagadh. Dry weather very likely Kutch district and in remaining districts of Gujarat region, Saurashtra and in Diu.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely at a few places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda, Surat, Navsari ,Valsad, Tapi, Dangs, Narmada and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli ; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Botad, Amreli,Junagadh, Porbandar. Dry weather very likely Kutch district and in remaining districts of Gujarat region,
Saurashtra and in Diu.
