Covid19 patient, with multiple comorbidity, who was kept for 10 days on ventilator support recovers, discharged from SVP hospital

Ahmedabad: A Covid19 patient who was on ventilator support for as long as 10 days was discharged today after full recovery. The patient had also multiple comorbid conditions including hypertension and diabetese.

Speaking about this success of AMC (Amdavad Municipal Corporation) run SVP (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) hospital team, city municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra in his daily online briefing today said, ‘a Covid19 patient Nitinbhai Shah is first such case. He was on ventilator support for 10 days with multiple comorbid conditions including diabetes and hypertension. Ventilator support was later successfully removed and his Covid tests were found negative twice in two days. He was kept under observation for few days and discharged today.’

Nehra said this is good news because it gives hope to other patients who have complications and are on ventilator support.

Nehra said SVP also successfully completed the process of delivery of baby through Caesarean section on Covid19 patient woman. A 30 years old woman was transferred to SVP due to complications. Her operative surgery was challenging as she was pregnant and infected by Covid19. This is country’s seventh such case. Mother and daughter both are doing well and stable. Daughter’s samples will be taken for test after 24 hours.

Nehra said yesterday 16 Covid19 patients were discharged from Civil hospital and SVP hospital in the city. Of them 2 were from SVP and 14 were from Civil. With this total 51 Covid19 patients have been discharged from hospitals so far.
