Rainfall in Ahmedabad city today in figures

Ahmedabad: The city today afternoon received heavy rain which was as high as nearly 3 inches in some area. The roads were waterlogged and traffic jam was witnessed in some areas. Mithakhali underpass was closed for traffic due to heavy water logging. However one lane could be opened soon following clearance of water by pumping.

According to AMC, coordination with State irrigation department was made post 3.00 pm in the wake of rainfall situation and 400 cu sec water was discharged from Vasna barrage. At 6.00 pm, 3322 cu sec water was discharged in the river.

AMC said Vasna barrage’s two gates were kept open in 2 ft measurement.

AMC said five complains of tree falling, 8 complains of water logging were received today.

Barring Akhbarnagar underpass, which was shut for traffic at 3.55 pm due to water logging, all other roads across the city are open.
