Gujarat Covid-19 total case figure crosses 60,000 mark

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has reported 1159 new Covid-19 positive cases in 24 hours ending at 5 pm today, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases in the State so far to 60,285. The state also recorded deaths of 22 positive patients in 24 hours, taking the death toll to 2,418. The deaths in Gujarat reported today include 10 from Surat, 5 from Ahmedabad, 2 each from Patan, Vadodara and Gandhinagar and 1 from Kutch. With the update, Surat district’s death toll reaches to 400. The new positive cases in Gujarat include 271 from Surat, 157 from Ahmedabad, 96 from Vadodara and 86 from Rajkot. Gujarat has in the span of 24 hours witnessed discharge of 879 patients, taking the total to 44,074. The discharges include 220 from Surat, 119 from Ahmedabad, 98 from Banaskantha and 70 from Rajkot. Gujarat carried out 25,067 tests to find new Covid-19 positive patients in 24 hours, taking the total to 7.38 lakh. The State health department said that the per million daily testing in the state is 386 now.
