Bhuj: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one Razak Kumbhar from his home in Mundra.

Razak is accused of giving Rs. 5,000 to ISI agent Mohammad Rashid via PayTM and other suspicious literature.

Pakistan based Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) agent Rashid was arrested from Varanasi in January this year by Military Intelligence and Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh Police. Rashid confessed that he was part of a racket to supply photographs of movement of armed forces to ISI. Radhid had visited Pakistan twice and exchanged Whatsapp numbers. He was asked to take a shop on rent near Jodhpur based army camp. NIA had received evidences that Mundra based Razak had sent Rs. 5,000 via PayTM to Rashid and also sent some sensitive literature.

NIA has arrested an ISI Agent from Kachchh, Gujarat in Defence/ISI Case in Uttar Pradesh. Yesterday, NIA arrested accused Rajakbhai Kumbhar, s/o Sumarbhai Kumbhar, r/o Vill – Kumbhar Vas, PS – Mundra, District – West Kutch, Gujarat in connection with the investigation of Defence/ISI case of UP.

Rajakbhai Kumbhar, a supervisor at Mundra dockyard, has been found to be working as ISI agent.

This case arose out of FIR No.01/2020 dated 19.01.2020 of PS-ATS, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh pertaining to the arrest of accused Md. Rashid, s/o Idrish, r/o Chaurhat Padao, UP.

NIA then re-registered this case on 06.04.2020 u/s 123 of IPC & sections 13, 17 & 18 of UA (P) Act. During investigation, it was revealed that accused Md. Rashid was in contact with Defense/ISI handlers of Pakistan and had visited Pakistan twice. He had transmitted photographs of some sensitive and strategically important installations in India and also shared information about the movement of the armed forces with ISI handlers in Pakistan.

Investigation revealed that accused Rajakbhai worked as ISI agent & transferred amount of Rs.5,000 through Paytm in account of Rizwan which was further handed over to main accused Md. Rashid. Money was remitted to accused Md.

Rashid by Rajakbhai Kumbhar on the directions of ISI. A search was conducted at the house of accused Rajakbhai Kumbhar on 27.08.2020 and several incriminating documents were seized. Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
