Gandhinagar: Municipal Corporation here has given smart watches to cleaning staff so that they can be tracked during their duty hours and their presence and works done by them can be verified. However Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad Shaher Safai Kamdar Union has protested this initiative and sent a letter to Chief Minister demanding that cleaning staff must not be treated differently and smart watches should be given to sanitary inspectors, sub inspectors, zonal officers, sanitary superintendents, office clerks, senior clerks and all who are part of the department responsible to keep the city clean.
