September 10, 2020
Ahmedabad: City based private run Parekhs hospital today asked more than 7 Covid-19 patients for compulsory shifting to Government run Sola civil hospital.
Parekhs hospital receives medical oxygen supply from Cosmic Agency which is a private firm. As this agency showed inability to supply sufficient oxygen to Parekhs hospital, the hospital management asked Covid-19 patients who were in need of oxygen supply to Civil hospital.
As per Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Parkehs hospital and Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), all logistic, medicines, food, oxygen etc need to be offered to Covid-19 patients by Parekhs hospital.
AMC officials said they are continuously monitoring this issue and they are also in contact with oxygen supplier and producer. They have given direction for availability of sufficient oxygen.
It’s worth noting that the AMC has signed MoU with number of private hospitals in the city, as per which, certain beds of those hospitals are being kept reserved for Covid-19 patients who are referred by AMC. As per MoU, such designated covid hospitals offer medical treatment, food, medicines, oxygen etc to AMC referred patients for free, as AMC pays for such expenses to hospital.
