CR calls CM Rupani, MoS Home Pradipsinh from hospital bed seeking action in Surat case

Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil who is hospitalized after tested Covid-19 positive, spoke to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and MoS Home Pradipsinh Jadeja over telephone calls from hospital bed and asked for strict action against those responsible for suicide of Durlabh Patel in Surat. Patil demanded immediate arrest of all those involved in abatement of suicide of Durlabh Patel who was former Director of Sayan Sugar Factory and leader of Kalachuda Kadva Patidar community. Patil demanded quick actions by Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate Durlabh Patel’s suicide case.

Durlabh Patel, owner of Khanjroli based Jalaram Stone Quarry had committed suicide in his own quarry. Based on his suicide note, his son Dharmeh Patel filed case of abatement of suicide against 11 accused including Rander Police Station’s inspector Lakshmansinh Bodana. Surat district police had handed over probe into this case to Bardoli DySP Rupal Solanki. Later a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had been formed. One of angles in the investigation is the Income Tax notice. IT department had served notice to Durlabh Patel for payment of Rs.13 crore including Rs. 4.80 crore penalty over a land deal. DeshGujarat
