Junagadh: Vanthali town in Junagadh district will be renamed as Vamansthali, the original name of the town. Vanthali is mentioned in puranic literature as Vamansthali, a place of Vaman, one of dash avatars of Vishnu. The elected body of municipality passed a resolution to rename the town as Vamansthali by majority of 23 of 24. Earlier, Vnathali city BJP chief Divyesh Jethwa had sent a letter to Chief Officer of municipality and requested to change the name of town. Vanthali has rare Vaman bhagwan mandir. Final decision on proposal of renaming of any city/town is taken by union Home ministry. Recently Veraval – Patan municipality in Gir Somnath district also decided to rename the municipality and town as Somnath. DeshGujarat
