According to Dr. Vaibhav Bhatt, CEO of GTU based ‘Atal Incubation Centre’, there are several rules mandated to start a laboratory for RTPCR tests for detection of Covid. A bio safety laboratory has to be class-2 type, it should have bio safety equipment for every kind of research, it has to have a Bio medical waste certificate obtained from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), it has to have RTPCR machine, bio safety cabinet machine, cooling centrifuge, deep freezers with temperature in range of minus 80 to 20 degree. GTU had applied for approval to its lab from ‘Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR)’, Delhi and sent photographs of the lab facility. ICMR tested some sample in its own lab and sent those samples to GTU lab in order to match the result. As sample tests at ICMR lab and GTU lab proved to be same, GTU lab was given approval by ICMR.
