Maru Kumbhars included in the list of Social and Educational Backward Class: Gujarat govt

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today announced its decision to include ‘Maru Kumbhar’ jaati in the list of Social and Educational Backward Class (SEBC). According to the State government, Kumbhar caste and its other sub castes are included in the list at number 99, however Gir Somnath district’s Maru Kumbhar sub caste was not mentioned in the list, due to which those belonging to Maru Kumbhar caste were facing difficulty in getting the certificate of Social and Educationally Backward Class.
