It’s worth noting here that the Central government had in fourth week of March 2021 had advised states to administer the second dose of Covishield at an interval of 4-8 weeks instead of the earlier bracket of four to six weeks. The government had added that emerging global evidence shows protection from Covishield is greater when the second dose is given between six to eight weeks but not later than eight weeks.
However, even after this advisory, the second dose of Covishield was being administered after 28 days.
