Three Congress MLAs hold dharna at Swarnim Sankul entrance

Gandhinagar: Three Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Congress party, Kirit Patel (Patan), Lalit Kagathara (Tankara) and Lalit Vasoya (Dhoraji) today sat on the floor at the entrance of Swarnim Sankul ministerial building in capital Gandhinagar in dharna style protesting alleged misbehave by an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) who was deployed at Swarnim Sankul’s gate to check the visitors.

Congress MLAs belonging to former PAAS (Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti) organization complained that they were checked in violation of convention that MLAs can walk in freely. In addition to that, an ASI deployed at the entrance behaved with them in disrespectful manner.

The MLAs then sat on the floor, right outside the entrance of Swarnim Sankul and called media persons for coverage of their dharna. After a few minutes an inspector came to them and informed them that a person responsible was moved to other location. The MLAs then left the entrance and entered Swarnim Sankul.

Speaking to media persons, Lalit Kagathara said that only proper suitable persons should be given duty at Swarnim Sankul. He said the person who misbehaved with MLAs was shifted elsewhere and therefore dharna was ended.

Meanwhile an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) said, one MLA with white top (Lalit Kagathara) had used abusive word while speaking to him. ASI also alleged that an MLA in Red top (Kirit Patel) had also threatened him and said ‘tu taari aukaat ma rahe’. ASI said he was working as per instruction and just asking for names of visitors to note them down.
