No covid vaccination in Gujarat on Wednesdays and Sundays: Nitin Patel
July 14, 2021
Gandhinagar: Deputy CM Nitinbhai Patel informed that the Covid-19 vaccination will remain closed on Wednesdays and Sundays in Gujarat.
This decision is taken by the government considering the significant decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state. Wednesdays are observed as Mamata Divas for immunization of pregnant women, children and infants as part of the Mission Indradhanush immunization program. So, the vaccination will be suspended on Wednesdays considering the same.
The vaccination will be closed on Sundays with a purpose of providing a holiday or break to the health department considering their constant hard-work amidst the pandemic and vaccination drive. Around 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh citizens are being vaccinated every day.
