AMC shelves auction of land plots to keep them available for Olympic 2036 bid

Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has cancelled the plans of auction of 15 plots as it has decided to keep available plots reserved for potential use for Olympic 2036.

Auction of total 15 plots owned by AMC is cancelled in order to make them available for plans pertaining to bid for hosting Olympic 2036 in the city. AMC has also cancelled the sale deed of Rs 151.67 crores of a plot of 8060 square meters on Sindhu Bhavan road which was already auctioned and the bid was won by Shrestha Infra Space LLP. The auctions of these plots in East and West zones are cancelled for the Olympics to be organised in Gujarat in the year 2036.

Among the 15 plots which were put in auction were three in Thaltej, four in Bodakdev, two in Nikol, three in Vastral, and three in Naroda-Hanspura-Kathwada area.

Standing committee chairman Hitesh Barot said that the auction of the plots was organised in which one plot was sold but it was cancelled considering the renovation of the city and for the requirement for Olympic of global level to be organised in the city. DeshGujarat
