Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Vikram Nath appointed as Judge in Supreme Court

New elhi: The president of India has appointed Justice Vikram Nath, Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India with effect from the date he assumes of his office. Justice Vikram Nath will potentially be the Chief Justice of India for about six months on the retirement of Justice Surya Kant in February 2027.

Justice Nath obtained his law degree in 1986. Following his enrolment in 1987, he practiced in the Allahabad High Court. He was appointed an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2004. He was made a permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2006. He was appointed Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court in year 2019.
