Laborers die during sewer line work in Bopal

Ahmedabad: At least two labourers died due to suffocation in a sewer line near DPS school in Bopal area in Ahmedabad. Bopal Police has nabbed a sub-contractor in this case. AUDA had allotted the contract of the sewer line to Yogi Constructions.

According to the details available the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) had started cleaning and pipeline fitting work in a sewer line near DPS School in Bopal. Meanwhile, a labourer named Bharatbhai who had entered the sewer line for cleaning became unconscious due to suffocation. Other two labourers named Rajubhai and Sandipbhai then entered the sewer line to rescue him and they also got stuck into it.

The workers of fire-brigade rescued two labourers. They were admitted to SOLA civil hospital for the treatment where they died. One remaining labourer was also suspected to be dead. DeshGujarat
