Promotee Gujarat IAS takes voluntary retirement

Gandhinagar: A year 2005 batch promotee IAS officer H K Patel, managing director of Gujarat State Civil Supply Corporation Ltd has taken voluntary retirement with effect from September 4, before his scheduled retirement next year. Patel was recently promoted to secretary rank. There’s strong buzz that he may join ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) eventually with his vast experience of working with Patel community’s religious and social organizations and as Collector and DDO in various districts. Patel has claimed his retirement is for his wish to spend more time with family members who are settled abroad in America.
