These 42 hospitals in Ahmedabad will need to transfer the patients and shut in 7 days

Ahmedabad: 42 hospitals in Ahmedabad are served notices and instructed to shut in next seven days period and transfer all admitted patients meanwhile. Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) will seal these hospitals and take legal actions in cases of failure to comply after seven days period is over. AMC is also in process to cancel ‘C’ forms given to these hospitals.

The decision has taken as these hospitals lack ‘Building Use’ (BU) permission, and they have not received any relief from the High Court and even from the Supreme Court when challenged the actions taken by AMC.

As per the GPMC Act, the Gujarat Town Planning Act and provisions of development regulations, a building in AMC area can be used only after obtaining BU permission.
