Centre mulling takeover of Shamlaji – Anand State highway

Modasa: It is learnt that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India is in process to take over the state highway-48 between Anand and Shamlaji and convert it into a four-lane National Highway.
State-Highway 48 enters into Aravalli district from Rajasthan and passes through Modasa, Dhansura, Bayad talukas before reaching Kheda district.
The locals have often demanded a bypass or a flyover bridge on this highway to ease the issue of traffic and accidents. The highway is witnessing traffic-issues, especially due to the vehicles between Delhi and Mumbai.
