South West Monsoon withdrawn from some parts of Gujarat: IMD

New Delhi: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a weather department of the Government of India today said that SouthWest Monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Gujarat today. The withdrawal line passes through Bhuj.

‘In view of the establishment of an anticyclonic circulation in the lower tropospheric levels over western parts of northwest India and substantial reduction in moisture content & rainfall, the withdrawal of southwest monsoon has commenced today against normal date of 17th September. Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of west Rajasthan and some parts of adjoining Gujarat today, the 06th October, 2021. The withdrawal line passes through 28.5°N/ Long.72.5°E, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jalore, Bhuj and Lat. 23°N/ Long.68°E ),’ IMD stated.

IMD bulletin further stated that, ‘conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Gujarat, entire Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Madhya Pradesh during next 3-4 days.’

Meanwhile, rainfall upto 20 mm was noticed in a few talukas including Dang today during 6 am to 4 pm period.
