Palanpur: The owners of petrol-pumps in Gujarat at the Gujarat- Rajasthan border have installed sign-boards recommending the drivers to buy fuel for their vehicles from Gujarat due to less prices in Gujarat compared to Rajasthan, thanks to lower taxes.
The prices of petrol and diesel are lesser in Gujarat than in neighboring state Rajasthan since long. The price of petrol is Rs 110 to 150 per litre and diesel costs Rs 101 to 106 per litre in Rajasthan. In Gujarat, the petrol price is Rs 100 to 102 per litre and diesel price is Rs 100 per litre.
The sign-boards denoting the lower price of fuel in Gujarat at the border between two states are attracting the drivers from Rajasthan to purchase it from Gujarat.
Scores of trucks and other vehicles cross the inter-state border and travel to Gujarat to reach nearest petrol pump to fill in the tanks to full and return to Rajasthan. Even the goods vehicles from Delhi plan their journey in a way that they can full the tank of trucks in Gujarat and save the money.
The lower cost of petrol and diesel in Gujarat is due to one of lowest state-imposed-tax. DeshGujarat
