Gujarat govt adopts PFMS for quick direct payment to farmers over MSP purchase
November 10, 2021
Gandhinagar: The State government has implemented PFMS (Public Financing Management System) for direct payment to farmers over support price purchase of farm produces, said Spokesperson minister Jitubhai Vaghani today in his post weekly cabinet briefing.
The farmers would get payment in a week time earlier, but thanks to this new system, the attempt has been made that the farmers get payment in three-four days, he added.
He said, the government has started a 90-day purchase of groundnut at support prices from Labh Pancham this year. Fewer than last year have registered for this purchase, which is a matter of pleasure. It is a matter of pleasure because Narendrabhai took a good decision in new farm laws. So MSP prices were fixed, and farmers were allowed to sell their produce in open market. This has created a competition and therefore while Minimum Support Price offered by government is Rs. 5500 per quintal, the farmers are getting farm superior rates of Rs. 6000 to Rs. 6500 per quintal in open market. Vaghani thanked the Prime Minister for this in his briefing.
He said Dangar, Makai and Bajri produces are being purchased by the central government. He said Mung, Udad and Soybean purchase are also underway. He said 3,225 quintal purchase of ground nut has materialized in the State and the government has paid Rs. 180 crore so far.
He said the Revenue minister will issue 283 orders of santhni land tomorrow at Abdasa in Kutch. DeshGujarat
