Surat Sessions Court delivers verdict in 4-year old girl’s rape case in just 29 days

Surat: In an unusual example, the Sessions Court in Surat has delivered the verdict of rape case involving a 4-year old girl child as victim in just 29 days. While swift verdict by the court is admirable, the State Police also worked for day and night and filed the charge sheet in just 9 days which made fast justice possible.

According to the Minister of State for Home, Shri Harsh Sanghavi, the Sessions Court has made history by giving verdict in just 29 days. He informed that the accused has been given life term with Rs. 1 lakh fine. He further said that hearing in the court continued till 12 midnight to deliver justice to victim’s family.

Sanghavi said that the State government is determined for speedy justice. He said the verdict in historic low period has ensured fast justice to victim’s family. It has also created fear among criminals. A strong example has been set in the society with this.

The incident of crime had happened last month in Surat in Sachin GIDC area.  The accused was Ajay Kevat (37) wo was from Northern Indian State. He had picked up and raped a girl child when she was playing outside her home. The accused had committed crime after watching porn film in his mobile phone. Police later found 149 porn films from his mobile phone. Accused would buy porn films in memory card from a person called Sagar Shah alias Lucky. Sagar would download porn clips from internet in a computer and copy them in memory card to sell each such card for Rs. 300. Police has nabbed Sagar. DeshGujarat
