Vadodara rape incident gruesome and unacceptable! Police investigation underway

Vadodara: Over 25 teams of Ahmedabad and Vadodara crime branch in addition to railway police have undertaken investigation after the 18-year old gangrape victim girl from Navsari hanged herself to death in a coach of Gujarat Queen train in Valsad. The victim girl alleged gangrape with her at vaccine ground in Vadodara in her diary.

The investigation is being conducted in Vadodara, Navsari and Valsad. The investigation with the help of the footage of CCTV cameras setup around the vaccine ground is also underway. The police have started the scientific investigation in Vaccine Ground at Old Padra Road with help of sniffer dogs and samples of soil taken by forensic experts. Railway IG Subhash Trivedi had informed the media on Sunday that over 450 CCTV footages from Vadodara, Navsari, Surat and Valsad are being checked. The mobile numbers of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra found from the female’s mobile phone are being checked by the police.

During the post mortem, marks of injuries were found from three spots on the female’s body which were hand, thigh and below the waist. The veginal samples are sent to FSL to confirm about the rape and the reports will arrive till 17th November.

A diary was found from the female’s bag in which she had described about the gangrape that happened with her at Vaccine ground. The female had written that two persons were following her after she departed from the office of Oasis NGO, Chakli circle with her cycle at 6 pm on 29th October. She had become unconscious after they knocked her with a wall. They then tied a cloth on her eyes and dragged her somewhere and raped her. The female has mentioned in diary that she had heard the rapists talking in Hindi. The persons escaped after raping her. Then, an eyewitness bus-driver arrived to park his bus in the ground and noticed her in half-naked condition. As she sought help, the bus-driver and a cattle rearer helped her and found her dress from nearby. A bus-driver noticed two persons nearby who ran away. He also noticed a rickshaw parked nearby. A bus-driver took her to the Oasis NGO at Chakli circle. There she called her friend from bus-driver’s phone and the bus-driver informed her friend about the incident. Her friend had taken her to her room after staying in the office for a while. The female later went to her parents at Navsari and then told them she would visit to meet her friend in Maroli. However when checked, the police found that there was no friend of her with such name in Maroli. She later committed suicide in a rail coach in Valsad by hanging from luggage rack. Her bag contained pieces of papers which police gathered but couldn’t found anything. The victim girls diary later revealed that she was gang raped.
