Students of Nirma Vidyavihar, Udgam tested covid positive

Sabarmati: The District Education Officer (DEO) has ordered the closure of the Nirma Vidyavihar School at SG Highway in Chharodi, Ahmedabad for 7 days after 3 students tested positive for covid-19.

The parents of the students had done covid-19 testing of the whole family after some persons in their home had tested positive for covid-19. The two students had tested positive for covid-19 during the same. Out of the three, two students from class 9th and class 11th belong from the same home. The two students are from secondary class and one is from primary class out of the three. It is instructed to sanitize the whole school. The parents of other students are instructed for RT PCR test of themselves and the children.

In addition to the 3 students from Nirma Vidyavihar school, a girl studying in Udgam school in the city has also tested positive for covid-19. The girl is studying in class 2. She was under treatment for malaria after returning from a family trip. Her parents had tested positive for covid-19 after conducting their tests on 15th December. However, as informed by the school management, the girl wasn’t attending school from 9th December and she was studying in online mode.
