RTO Gujarat to consider printout of driving License valid if application is approved by card not issued

Gandhinagar: The state transport department has ordered to consider the printout of a driving license as valid in absence of actual driving license, after the application for driving license is approved by RTO. The decision has been taken and conveyed to staffers as the private company issuing smart-cards for driving license has stopped issuing them. The announcement is effective only for locals.

There are over 1.5 lakh licenses that are approved after due procedure but not sent to the applicants across the state. After getting approval, the smart card of the applicant is delivered at the registered address. In the meantime the messages about the license are received in the mobile phone number of the applicant.

The drivers will have to print the license through the SMS link provided in such message or from Sarthi portal in A4 size by selecting the option of ‘print driving licence’. It will be considered valid. As an another alternate, the license and other RTO documents issued by transport department through Digilocker app are already considered valid. A person can open his/her smartphone, open Digilocker app, go to issued document section and click the license or other RTO documents and show it. DeshGujarat
