BJP corporators submit explanations for their absence in CM’s Surat function

Surat: The ruling party leader Amitsing Rajput had issued notices to 26 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators of Surat and demanded their written explanations for their absence in the function held in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Surat on Sunday. The corporators have in their replies explain various reasons for their absence.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel on Sunday attended various functions in Surat city including Tapi pujan at Singanpor and launch of various development projects at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. All the 93 corporators of ruling BJP were asked to remain present mandatory in these functions but 26 corporators of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) were found to be absent. The party had made a register to note down the presence and absence of corporators. When asked for explanation, various corporators gave various reasons for their absence in the program of CM Patel in written explanation.

A corporator of Althan, Bamroli and Vadod area Bansu Yadav gave a reason for puncture in his bike for his absence. Another corporator Dipen Desai gave the reason for the injury in his leg that happened during the practice of Mayors’ cup cricket tournament. A female corporator Sonal Desai gave the reason for being present in PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat program for her absence. Another female corporator Aarti Patel gave the reason for her medical reports to be conducted on Sunday prior to her operation on Tuesday.
