February 03, 2022
Mahesana: Main opposition Congress party MLA led group has announced Dalit Maha Andolan (agitation) in the State starting from 1st of March. MLA Naushad Solanki announced to start this agitation with a march from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar. This announcement was made after a meeting in Mahesana.
Gujarat is going to witness general elections of State assembly later this year in December 2022 if on time.
In the meeting organised in Mehsana circuit house, it was alleged that the education of 6 to 7 thousand students is likely to be affected due to the decisions of the government regarding scholarship of students in private institutions. Around 2 thousand students will not be able to receive higher education each year due to the same, they alleged.
The Congress MLA said the agitators will besiege the state assembly on 2nd March as part of this protest. Meanwhile some of those who attended the meeting covered the photograph of PM Narendra Modi by putting a handkerchief over it in the hall of the circuit house. However hankerchief was later removed.
