Rajkot: Ruling BJP MLA Govind Patel has triggered a row by alleging that Rajkot city police commissioner Manoj Agrawal takes 15 per cent commission to manage to return sunk money of complainants. Patel also alleged that in such cases complaints are not filed even. Patel made this allegation in a letter written to MoS Home Harsh Sanghavi privately, however the copy of this letter was leaked to the media persons. Patel said he is going to meet MoS Home over this issue.

In his letter to Harsh Sanghavi, MLA Govind Patel has claimed that Rajkot Police Commissioner Manoj Agrawal didn’t file FIR of a complainant in Rs. 15 crore cheating case and asked for 15 per cent commission on collection to return the money. Patel further added that Agrawal collected Rs. 75 lakh through Police Inspector after managing the collection of Rs. 7 crore out of total Rs. 15 crore. Patel added that a complainant continues to receive phone calls from Police Inspector for payment of rest of the amount which is Rs. 30 lakh.

Patel added that after intervention of MoS Home, a complaint was filed and two accused were nabbed. One is on run and he has purchased a flat through this money. After a complaint was filed, not a single pie of rest of Rs. 8 crore amount has returned to complainant. Patel has requested MoS Home to intervene also for return of Rs. 75 lakh amount from the police.

A complainant in this case is identified as Maheshbhai Sakhiya according to sources.

A vocal Rajya Sabha MP Rambhai Mokariya who is also from Rajkot joined Patel and said the Police Commissioner is into collection of money, settlement of disputed land and vasuli. The officer should face action and not given good posting. DeshGujarat
