Govt official suspended for holding elocution competition on Godse

Valsad: The State government has suspended the probationary youth development officer Mita Gavli oved an elocution competition on the subject ‘My Ideal Nathuram Godse’ held in a private school in Valsad district of South Gujarat. Nathuram Godse is one who had killed Mahatma Gandhi in late 1940s.
The elocution competition was held as part of district level Bal Pratibha Shodh Spardha in a private school in Valsad named Kusum Vidhyalaya. The topic of the elocution competition was ‘My Ideal Nathuram Godse’. A student who criticised Mahatma Gandhi and portrayed Nathuram Godse as a ‘hero’ was declared winner of the elocution, it is learnt.
The subject was selected at the local level, out of he knowledge of higher ups in the department. The probationary youth development officer Mita Gavli has been suspended. DeshGujarat
