Gujarat govt approval for construction of a 6-lane Saroli Jakat Naka rail over bridge
April 04, 2022
Surat: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has granted in-principle approval to Rs. 64 crore urban mobility works under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana in Surat. Thanks to this decision, a new 6-lane railway overbridge will be built near Saroli jakat naka at Olpad road in Surat.
The 6-lane railway overbridge will be built in place of the existing 2-lane railway overbridge at old Saroli jakat naka in Surat. There is a traffic issue at the existing 2-lane overbridge connecting Surat and Olpad, due to movement of heavy vehicles including tankers from industries in Hazira from Kim-Olpad. It was therefore required to either expand the 2-lane bridge or make a new bridge with more capacity to resolve traffic issues.
The proposal for 6-lane railway overbridge was put forward by Gujarat Municipal Finance Board, which has received in-principle approval. DeshGujarat
