Surendranagar: Former BJP Lok Sabha member Devji Fatepara who has been also a former Congress MLA today held a meeting of Koli Community persons in Circuit house here. Fatepara said the meeting took decision to form Velnath Sena outfit of Koli community. Fatepara said he will tour through 22 assembly seats for a membership drive to enroll Koli community members into this outfit. Fatepara who is from Chuvaliya Koli, stated that Talpada Kolis are like his elder brothers so as Ghediya Kolis. Fatepara said 10,000 Koli community members will be enrolled per assembly seat segment to Velnath Sena. These 10,000 members in each assembly seat will take oath that they shall vote in the election only as per the direction given by Velnath Sena. Fatepara said, out of 54 seats of Saurashtra region, 10 are having dominating Koli community population, 22 seats have Koli community presence in the size of 20-25,000 votes. Fatepara claimed that Koli community is in decisive position across 40 assembly seats. Fatepara had joined BJP from Congress party. He had been BJP Lok Sabha MP for five years. His candidature was not renewed by party ahead of year 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He is now actively playing community card to show his importance to party.
