Gujarat govt launches toll free number 1916 on water supply issues in summer

Gandhinagar: Cabinet minister and the state government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani today announced the toll free helpline number launched by the state government to hear and address water supply issues in summer this year.

The helpline number 1916 is toll free and it can be used for queries regarding water supply schemes, handpump repairing an so on, he informed. The department will make attempts to immediately solve them, he said.

Sevasetu, a program which includes 56 services has been a successful program, he said. The sevasetu program has been continuously organized at the second Saturday of every month, he said. Total 4,99,979 applications were received under it. Total 77 sevasetu camps were organized in cities and 194 in villages, he added. They will be organized later in four districts namely Jamnagar, Porbandar, Narmada and Dahod due to VVIP functions, he added. He said that 4,99,914 applications out of 4,99,979 applications, were resolved.

Vaghani was addressing media on the State cabinet meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel earlier today. DeshGujarat
