Heat wave to continue on 13th May as well: IMD

According to IMD, the weather department of Government, in association with the dry weather condition, Gujarat State is very likely to experience a spell of heat wave on 12st and 13th May 2022.

The day wise forecast and warnings for the state are given below.

Day 1(12st May 2022): Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the
districts of North Gujarat region namely Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha,
Sabarkantha, Patan and Mehsana; in the districts of Saurashtra- Kutch namely
Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad and Kutch.

Day 2(13th May 2022): Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the
districts of North Gujarat region namely Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha,
Sabarkantha, Patan and Mehsana; in the districts of Saurashtra- Kutch namely
Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad and Kutch.

Expected Impact with respect to yellow colour warning issued for the Districts namely
Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Gandhinagar, Mehsana ,Ahmedabad Surendranagar,
Botad, Rajkot, Amreli and Kutch.

IMPACT: Moderate temperature. Heat is tolerable for general public but moderate health
concern for vulnerable people e.g. infants, elderly, people with chronic diseases.

SUGGESTED ACTIONS: (a) Avoid heat exposure. (b) Wear lightweight, light-coloured,
loose, cotton clothes (c) Cover your head.
