Gandhinagar: The department of Forest under the Government of Gujarat has attached microchips on the tails of 34 panthers in Barda hill of Porbandar district to track their movements. Over 30 panthers live in the Barda hills area in Porbandar. They often reach human habitats around the hill. The forest department captures such panthers inside the cages. They install microchips on its tail and note down the time of arrival in human habitats. The microchips fitted in tails allow the Firest department to keep track of their movement in human habitat. Some panthers with the behavior of attacking humans are also sent to Sakkarbaug zoo in Junagadh as punishment and are caged there. DeshGujarat
