48 panchayat offices have solar plants in Bharuch district

Bharuch: Total 43 gram panchayat offices and 5 taluka panchayat offices in Bharuch district have rooftop solar systems.

The rooftop solar systems are installed at a cost of Rs 1 crore from the fund of financial commission. The solar panels of 15 to 25 kilowatts are installed on the terraces of taluka panchayat offices at Jambusar, Amod, Ankleshwar, Netrang, and Hansot. Netrang taluka panchayat office was the first to have solar panels out of the five taluka panchayats. The solar panels of 3 kilowatts are installed at Gram panchayat offices. It will result in power production of 180 kilowatts.

The solar panels will save the cost of electricity bill of around over Rs 20 thousand per two months of gram panchayats. The annual electricity bill of Rs 6 lakh of the taluka panchayats will also be saved. DeshGujarat
