Denied mobile for playing game, 16-yr-old cousin murders 12-yr-old boy

Gandhinagar: The sensational murder of a 12 year old boy by his 16-yr-old cousin in Goblaj village of Kheda taluka has come as an eye opener for all those parents who don’t realize that mobile games are to blame for the rise in violent activities of minors.

According to details that have emerged, two brothers had arrived in Kheda from Rajasthan to seek employment. Their respective children had come to visit their fathers from Rajasthan because of Summer vacation. One brother’s son was a 16-yr-old minor and the other brother’s son was a 12 yr-old minor.

While their parents were away at work, both the cousins went to play near the NGM well 116 in Goblaj village. At that time, the 12-yr-old minor was playing free fire game on the mobile. The elder cousin asked the younger one to give the mobile so that he could play the game on the mobile. When the younger one refused to part with the mobile, the elder cousin then killed the younger one by striking him on the head with a stone.

After murdering, he destroyed the evidence by tying the corpse of the younger cousin to heavy objects such as stones and then threw it into a well. Instead of returning home, the 16-yr-old went away to Rajasthan.

When both the children did not return home, their parents grew worried. They also informed their family in Rajasthan who told them that the 16-yr-old had come back.

The 16-yr-old was brought back to Goblaj from Rajasthan who broke down when he was strictly asked about the whereabouts of the 12-yr-old cousin. The parents and other family members were shocked to hear when the 16-yr-old told them that he had murdered the 12-yr-old. The father of the murdered boy then informed the police who lodged an offence of murder against the 16-yr-old and produced him before a Juvenile court in Nadiad. The court has ordered that the 16-yr-old be sent to an Observation Home. DeshGujarat
