Surat: Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil on Sunday has awarded a cheque of Rs 5 lakh on behalf of the party to Jatin Nakrani, who had put his own life at risk to save lives of children during the Takshashila Complex fire tragedy that occurred three years ago.
The help from the BJP has come after messages seeking help for Nakrani had gone viral on social media on the third anniversary of the unfortunate incident in May.
When the Takshashila Complex was being gutted by a major fire, children had jumped from second and third floors to save their own lives. Under such circumstances, Jatin Nakrani had without bothering about his own safety saved the lives of 15 children. Even Nakrani suffered a fall while rescuing the children and since then he is in great difficulty physically as well as financially.
Nakrani has received much financial assistance because of the viral social media messages and many people have even collected funds for his medical treatment. DeshGujarat
