Rajkot to be first city in Gujarat to get six-lane road

Rajkot: BJP does not want to leave any stone unturned to win the hearts of the people of Saurashtra ahead of the state assembly polls. After dedicating several projects to the people, the first six-lane road of the state will be developed in Rajkot city.

The road will come up between KKV Chowk and Avadh. It will be 5 kms long and 45 meters wide.

The road is expected to ease the traffic situation of Rajkot city.

The entire stretch of 5 km starting from KKV Chowk to Motomava and from Motomava to Avadh road, which connects to the Kalavad highway, will be widened under this project.

The road is currently 30 meters wide, but it will be broadened further by another 15 meters. Almost more than 120 properties will have to be demolished to widen the road. Whether to offer them the option to relocate, or to give them more FSI or cash compensation are the three options being mooted by the authorities for these properties.

The work will be undertaken by Rajkot Municipal Corporation. Currently work on KKV Chowk Jaddus Hotel Chowk bridge is underway. Therefore, work on broadening the road will start only after the work on the bridge is over. DeshGujarat.
