May 31, 2022
Narmada: MP Mansukh Vasava has claimed that the quality of education not only in the Narmada district but in the whole of Gujarat is very poor. As evidence, he stated that very few candidates from the state go on to become IAS and IPS officers directly.
Vasava added that there are a large number of IAS and IPS officers in the state but they had all reached their positions by way of promotion. He also pointed out that bank managers in Gujarat were mostly natives of other states.
Even in Railway recruitment, only a very people from the state get selected. Even in ONGC, candidates from other states get selected while Gujarat candidates are nowhere to be seen.
Vasava said that a survey he had conducted revealed that Gujarat has a lot of big industries but not even 1% of people occupying key posts in these industries are originally from Gujarat. The salaries of people at key posts in these industries are much higher even than the salary of a district collector in the government.
He said that he was not criticizing Gujaratis but was speaking the truth. There is an urgent need to improve the quality of education in Gujarat, according to Vasava. DeshGujarat.
