June 01, 2022
Diu: The Western Zonal Council meeting to discuss all outstanding issues between states of the western region and between the states and the centre will be held in the Union Territory of Diu on June 11, 2022.
The issue of merging some parts of four villages of Valsad district into a union territory is likely to come up for discussion at the meeting.
The issue of liquor smuggling happening through neighboring states and issues of mutual cooperation in the area of maintaining law and order will also be discussed at this meeting.
The meeting will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and will be attended by chief ministers, home ministers and chief secretaries of Gujarat, Goa and Maharashtra, as well as the administrators of the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.
However, the controversy over the ownership and water of Madhuban Dam is still unresolved. It wouldn’t be surprising if this matter becomes the official issue for discussion at the meeting. DeshGujarat.
