Father of boy half blinded in stray cow attack in Vadodara seeks Rs 25 lakh compensation from VMC

Vadodara: The father of the boy, who was blinded in one eye after falling off his two-wheeler because of being attacked by a stray cow in Vadodara city, has sued the municipal commissioner, the police commissioner, the district collector and the state government in a court of law demanding a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for his son.

According to the father of 17-yr-old Henil Patel, the boy who lost vision in one eye, nobody should be allowed to set a cow or any other animal astray on the road and in case anybody does such an act, it is the duty of the municipal commissioner, the police commissioner and their subordinates to take stringent action against such individuals.

The VMC as well as the police department have failed in their duty of curbing the menace of stray cattle on the city’s roads and thoroughfares. Therefore, he has told the court, the civic body, as well as the police, are directly responsible for Henil’s medical condition. The state government is responsible because it has chosen not to act against the civic body as well as the police even after such a terrible incident, he said. DeshGujarat.
