4 injured in communal clash in Borsad; 50 tear gas shells lobbed, 30 rubber bullets fired

Anand: Four persons including a policeman were injured in an incident of communal clash last night in Borsad town of Anand district in Central Gujarat, said police.
The violence broke out after an attack on a person in Hanuman mandir – Ahmedshah party plot area. Further attacks took place on college road.
CCTV near Jain temple was damaged during the violence. Police detained 14 accused. Stone pelting started at around 1.00 am and continued for two hours in Brahmanwada area.
According to the district police chief, the violence broke out after one person was stabbed in the stomach by persons from another community. 50 tear gas shells were lobed and 30 rubber bullets were fired to control the violent mobs, said police.
Two companies of State Reserve Police (SRP) from Nadiad and Vadodara are called for further bandobast in order to prevent further violence. Police have identified 15 sensitive points and arranged bandobast meanwhile. DeshGujarat
