Sheetal Cool of Amreli to operate 50 of AMC’s Gardens, giving Amul a race for its monopoly

Ahmedabad: AMC has signed a contract with Amreli-based Sheetal Cool products Ltd. to operate their dairy parlours in 50 of AMC’s gardens. Sheetal cool has started its parlours at Thaltej, Naranpura and Ghodasar Lake Gardens in Ahmedabad last week. Amul’s monopoly is threatened by this new partnership between AMC and Sheetal Cool.

“We have been allotted 10 out of 50 parlours from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation,” said Bhupatbhai Bhuva, Managing Director, Sheetal Cool.
In three of these places, we have started parlours. Parlours will also be started on the rest of the garden in the next month.

“There are also talks about expanding their garden parlours in Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara, and three parlours will be established in Surat in the upcoming month,” he said.

As per a five-year agreement with the AMC, Sheetal will run the parlours and maintain the garden. The contract with AMC will allow the parlour to sell ice cream, milk, dairy products and snacks to people who come for walks or visit the garden.

For a long time, Amul has had a monopoly on the Municipal Corporation’s garden parlours. But now, Amul’s monopoly will be broken by Amreli’s renowned ice cream and dairy company. DeshGujarat
