Harassment to a Hindu minor girl; Father son booked by Mahuva Police in South Gujarat

Surat: A complaint has been filed against father-son over the alleged harassment of a Hindu minor girl in Mahuva in South Gujarat.

According to the complaint, Rashedkhan Pathan and his 17-year-old minor child were harassing a 16-year-old Hindu girl who is a student of class 7 in a Gujarati medium primary school. Three months ago, Rashedkhan Pathan had told the victim girl’s mother that journalists are very much respected in society and therefore she should send her girl on a Diwali vacation to work with him and get to know about journalism. The girl was called to the office where Rashedkhan made some objectionable demands, following which the girl stopped going to the office.

However, Rashedkhan’s son continued to chase and harass the victim girl. As the victim girl’s school was located near Rashedkhan’s house, the girl would refuse to go to school. When asked to share detail by her mother, the victim girl described how she was being harassed by Rashedkhan Pathan and his son frequently. When the victim girl’s mother called Rashedkhan over the phone, she was replied ‘do whatever you can, I am a journalist’. According to the complaint, Rashedkhan allegedly issued a death threat to the victim girl’s mother. Police Inspector of Mahuva Police station, JA Barot is probing into this case. DeshGujarat
