Vadodara: Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) of Gujarat Police has nabbed one Bharat Shah, a Junior Clerk, class-3 employee of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) for taking a bribe of Rs. 8,000.
According to ACB, the complainant’s boss owns Gurudev restaurant in the Dandiya Bazar area of Vadodara, however, VMC charges him more tax as he is recorded as a tenant in VMC records.
The complainant’s boss had submitted an application to correct his status in the VMC records as an owner instead of a tenant. The accused junior clerk demanded Rs. 9,000 bribe for this. As the complainant was not willing to pay a bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and the accused junior clerk was nabbed while receiving Rs. 8,000 bribe, as he returned Rs. 1,000 to the complainant.
