Registration of sale deed of illegal Property to stop in Ahmedabad A
March 01, 2023
Ahmedabad: Registration of the sale deed of a constructed property or illegal extension will now become difficult if it appears on the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s demolition list.
The Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad has issued a circular to officials, including estate officers, outlining a standard operating procedure for dealing with illegal structures in the city. The circular prioritizes the removal of unauthorized commercial complexes and structures built on common plots or non-residential areas.
AMC will inform the concerned sub-registrar to avoid registering the sale deed of any illegal property, and the engineering department has been instructed to disconnect sewer, water, and electricity connections if an unauthorized construction is sealed and the seal is broken.
A public notice of the unauthorized construction will be advertised to prevent people from buying it. The circular also orders the issuance of notices by TDOs and requests the help of the local police to carry out demolitions within a set time limit. Minor violations will be fourth on the priority list, the order further stated. DeshGujarat
